Overview
This is a hands-on cabinetmaker role based in L’Assomption, Quebec, requiring expertise in woodworking with 3 to 5 years of experience. Fluency in French and possession of a trades certificate or equivalent experience are necessary.
Work Environment
The position entails working full-time onsite at a custom cabinet shop, furniture manufacturing facility, or millwork shop. Daily tasks are performed in a fast-paced setting, requiring physical stamina and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Operate various woodworking machinery including power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers to accurately cut, shape, and form components.
- Interpret blueprints, plans, and technical drawings to produce custom cabinetry.
- Trim, fit, and assemble parts and subassemblies, reinforcing joints to complete units.
- Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stains, polishing finishes, and laminated plastics for high-quality final products.
- Ensure the work area is maintained clean, safe, and organized.
Qualifications and Skills
- Required certification in a trade or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of three years, up to less than five years, in woodworking focused on cabinetry.
- Ability to stand for long periods and maintain concentration in a detail-oriented environment.
- Must have own transportation.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, punctuality, and teamwork skills.
