Business Solutions Manager - Inventory

About the Role

Etihad is advancing its commercial capabilities as part of the Journey 2030 transformation. We seek a seasoned Revenue Management expert to guide the evolution of inventory optimization and strategic commercial decision-making. Positioned within our Solutions & Innovation team, this role integrates Revenue Management, Technology, and Data to develop improvements in inventory forecasting, optimization, and management across the global network.

Role Overview

This position transcends typical Revenue Management responsibilities, combining in-depth commercial knowledge with technology, advanced analytics, and product development to create intelligent solutions, automate complex workflows, and generate tangible commercial benefits. As a collaborator with Digital, Technology, and Commercial teams, you will influence the progression of Revenue Management systems essential to one of the fastest-growing airlines worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Drive the creation and implementation of cutting-edge Revenue Management solutions concentrating on inventory optimization and availability control.
• Identify enhancements in commercial systems, processes, and decision frameworks through automation, analytics, and new technologies.
• Lead proof-of-concept projects and scale effective solutions to production environments.
• Take ownership of inventory-related Revenue Management platforms, ensuring alignment with evolving commercial objectives.
• Collaborate with Revenue Management, Commercial, Digital, and Technology stakeholders to define requirements and influence product development roadmaps.
• Manage system improvements, upgrades, testing, and deployment while minimizing operational disruption.
• Evaluate inventory optimization metrics, user engagement, and forecasting results to provide insights that enhance commercial performance.
• Adjust forecasting models, optimization parameters, and inventory controls to maximize revenue generation.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and usability standards are upheld across Revenue Management tools.
• Convert complex analytics into actionable commercial strategies for business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, or a related field; an MBA is advantageous.
• At least five years of relevant experience within the airline industry.
• Proven hands-on expertise in inventory optimization and availability management.
• Familiarity with Revenue Management systems such as Amadeus, Sabre, or PROS.
• Strong foundational knowledge of demand forecasting, optimization, and airline commercial operations.
• Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement and communication.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects while addressing operational priorities.

Preferred Experience

• Working knowledge of Python, R, Tableau, Databricks, or similar analytics tools.
• Exposure to cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Experience implementing automation, analytics, or AI-driven commercial solutions.
• Background in product ownership or systems implementation within an airline context.
