Role Overview

The Business Intelligence Engineer will ensure the reliability of existing reporting systems while contributing to the advancement of new data architectures and reporting solutions, utilizing Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Power Automate technologies in a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand and navigate the evolving data ecosystem including legacy SSRS, ERP data systems, and Microsoft Fabric components.
• Create and enhance data flows along with Power BI dashboards and reports tailored for internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve data-related issues by investigating root causes across multiple systems and sources.
• Assist business units with on-demand data requests, report management, and validation processes.
• Monitor scheduled reporting workflows to guarantee accurate, complete, and uninterrupted report delivery.
• Oversee timely and dependable production and distribution of operational and analytical reporting outputs.
• Adhere to established procedures while contributing to the development of BI and data engineering standards and best practices.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
• At least 3 years of professional experience as a BI Engineer in contemporary Microsoft BI and analytics platforms.
• Proficient in T-SQL and working with complex relational database structures.
• Experienced in developing ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and DataFrame-centric frameworks.
• Skilled in building automated workflows and integrations with Power Automate.
• Strong knowledge of Power BI including DAX and Power Query functionalities.
• Familiar with Git-based DevOps processes.
• Understanding of medallion data architecture principles.
• Awareness of data governance, security policies, and industry best practices.
• Experience in supply chain data is advantageous.
• Certifications like Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals or Data Engineering are beneficial.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics data structures is a plus.
• Effective communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Compensation and Benefits

The role offers an annual salary between 85000 and 105000 CAD, exclusive of bonuses and benefits. Final salary is influenced by location, experience, expertise, and education.
