Business Unit Overview
The Support Functions team (CSS) plays an enabling role in the firm by strengthening the internal operations that help the business perform effectively. These functions include Human Resources, Learning and Development, Finance, IT, Client and Market, and Risk Management. Their work supports other departments by improving productivity and helping create better experiences for clients.
Role Overview
KPMG is seeking a business development professional who can strengthen the firm’s position as the preferred partner for clients, both internally and externally. The role involves generating opportunities in international markets by combining business development, presales, technical capability, and delivery understanding. The successful candidate will also champion innovation, collaborate across teams, and help colleagues grow into their potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Spot and pursue fresh business opportunities that expand the organization across industries, new technologies, and service offerings to strengthen the pipeline.
- Partner with internal teams to shape integrated solutions tailored to the needs of specific sectors and clients.
- Coordinate closely with delivery teams to ensure effective program support and to develop commercially sound and innovative structures.
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with government entities and major Qatari organizations.
- Manage important relationships within the partner network to generate business from the firm’s existing client base.
- Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships that can lead to co-selling opportunities.
- Support bid and proposal work for major transformation initiatives.
- Work with the solution design team to respond efficiently to RFQs and RFPs.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients on strategic business and technology priorities.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- An MBA or another relevant postgraduate qualification from an international institution is considered an advantage.
- Experience in a Big 4 audit firm or a global consulting environment will be beneficial.
- At least 3 years of experience is required.
- Previous work as a business development officer or in a similar position is preferred.
- Experience in the Qatar market across public and private sector environments is important.
- Strong computer literacy is expected, especially in Microsoft Office tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- The role calls for strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and management skills.
- Excellent negotiation and decision-making capabilities are needed.
- Clear and effective communication skills are essential.
- A strong commercial mindset and attention to detail are important for success.
