Business Analyst - Payments

Job Overview

Smartedge Solutions is seeking an experienced Business Analyst specialized in the Payments domain to join their client in Dublin, Ireland. This role requires expertise in banking systems with a strong focus on the Payments sector, operating in a hybrid working model.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with clients across project lifecycles to collect requirements, transform them into user stories, interpret relevant legislative documentation, present requirements to stakeholders, and collaborate with technical teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Coordinate with business owners, product teams, vendors, internal and external customers to identify and fulfill requirements within set deadlines.
• Lead content discussions with clients to define business solutions.
• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements by interacting with various stakeholders.
• Support delivery and implementation teams by providing domain knowledge and ensuring the execution of proposed solutions.
• Work alongside technical teams to clarify and confirm requirement details.
• Convert business requirement documents into actionable user stories.

Required Experience and Skills

• 6 to 15 years of experience in Tier-1 IT organizations within the BFSI sector, focusing on Payments.
• In-depth knowledge of Low Value Payments, High Value Payments, Cross Border Payments, and relevant regulations including SEPA, Instant Payments, Payment Services Directive, Open Banking, CBPR+, Target Payments, and SEPA direct debits.
• Expertise in messaging schemas and message formats used in payments.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to facilitate domain discussions with BFSI clients.
• Proven ability to act as a bridge between business and IT teams.
• Capable of understanding current business processes and gathering future requirements effectively.
• Adept at interpreting regulatory documents such as SWIFT and SEPA rulebooks and applying insights to requirements.
• Knowledge of Instant Payments, ISO20022, and PSD2 is advantageous.
• Competent in interacting with multiple stakeholders including business users, IT teams, and solution architects.
• Proficient in creating documentation such as flow diagrams, procedural guides, and manuals.
