About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. This full-time position requires 100% on-site presence. The successful candidate will support a variety of IT and Security Services projects by delivering clear and actionable business requirements. This role suits a versatile professional comfortable engaging with both technical and business stakeholders to define strategic and operational solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business and IT teams to collect, analyze, and document requirements for IT and cybersecurity initiatives.
- Lead workshops, interviews, and process mapping sessions to capture current and desired future processes.
- Convert business needs into functional/non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with project managers, solution architects, and technical staff to ensure accurate understanding and implementation of requirements.
- Assist in evaluating and selecting technology solutions, vendors, and strategies for deployment.
- Engage in design reviews, testing phases, and validation activities to confirm requirements fulfillment.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation including business cases, process flows, and implementation plans.
- Identify and document risks, dependencies, and changes impacting processes and IT systems.
- Serve as a communication bridge between business units and IT teams throughout project lifecycles.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in IT, with a minimum of 7 years dedicated to business analysis on complex projects.
- Proven background working across cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, enterprise applications, and IT operations domains.
- Strong command of business analysis frameworks and methodologies such as BABOK, Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
- Certification as CBAP or equivalent preferred; PMP, ITIL, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
- Demonstrated expertise in leading requirements gathering for large-scale and cross-functional efforts.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation abilities.
- Experience in regulated or utility sector environments is advantageous.
