About the Role
This opportunity is with Mercor, a company that connects top creative and technical professionals with AI research organizations. The team is based in San Francisco and is backed by well-known investors including Benchmark, General Catalyst, Peter Thiel, Adam D'Angelo, Larry Summers, and Jack Dorsey.
The opening is for a Biology / Environmental Science Evaluator who will review AI-produced work and help improve the quality of model outputs.
Compensation
This is a contract position paying between $80 and $120 per hour.
Work Location
The role is fully remote.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess AI-generated materials using subject-specific quality standards.
- Spot inaccuracies and presentation issues in documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks.
- Write clear, organized feedback that can be used to refine AI outputs.
- Partner with AI research teams to strengthen training data quality and overall performance.
- Work autonomously and on an asynchronous schedule while meeting deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in biology or environmental science.
- Strong command of English, either native-level or professional fluency.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, with strong experience using Slides.
Preferred Background
- A master's degree or higher from a reputable institution is preferred.
