Job overview

We are seeking motivated, energetic people to join the bank portering team at Bronglais General Hospital in Aberystwyth. The post supports a 24-hour service, so a variety of shifts are available, including overnight work, weekends, and bank holidays.

Main duties

The role covers a broad range of portering tasks, including moving patients, supporting security duties, driving, handling post room work and waste collection, and transporting food trolleys, linen, and patient records to wards and departments.

Full training will be provided to those appointed.

Applicants need to be flexible about start times, shift patterns, and working hours across the portering service, with cover required between 07:00 and 07:00. Weekends and bank holidays are part of the rota.

Hywel Dda University Health Board delivers NHS healthcare for communities across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and nearby counties. The health board also supports 47 general practices, six of them managed by the health board, dental practices including four orthodontic practices, 97 community pharmacies, 43 general ophthalmic practices, 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers, and a wide range of mental health and learning disability services.
