Description de l'emploi

Role overview

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is recruiting a permanent Band 5 Physiotherapist to join the Rapid Assessment and Discharge Service (RADS) team at Leicester Royal Infirmary. The role is based in a busy acute environment and focuses on supporting fast, safe patient flow through the emergency pathway.

The service works across the Emergency Department, Frailty Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit, Acute Frailty Unit and Medical Admissions Units. You will be part of a larger multidisciplinary team that helps prevent unnecessary admissions, improves discharge planning and supports patients to remain independent while in hospital.

This trust serves more than 1 million residents across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and is recognised for specialist services, including leadership in Geriatric Emergency Medicine. The therapy service has a strong profile within the organisation and plays an important role across the emergency floor through RADS.

Working pattern

Flexible working arrangements may be considered. The post requires adaptability because the service operates seven days a week from 8:00am to 8:00pm.

Trust priorities

The organisation’s 2023–2030 strategy focuses on four main aims: delivering high-quality care for everyone, being a great place to work, building impactful partnerships, and achieving excellence in research and education. Health equality is also a core commitment, with an emphasis on reducing avoidable healthcare differences by working closely with communities.

The trust’s values are compassion, pride, inclusion and teamwork.

Additional information

This is a new and developing period for the team, with a more proactive approach being shaped to meet current healthcare challenges.
