Overview
Tata Consultancy Services is conducting a weekend walk-in drive for an Azure Data Factory Developer role in Chennai. The position is based at TCS - Magnum Block, Chennai One IT SEZ Phase-2, 200 Feet Radial Road, MCN Nagar Extension, Thoraipakkam, Chennai - 600097. The expected experience level is 5+ years.
Role Summary
This role is suited to an experienced professional who can architect, build, and support scalable ETL and ELT data pipelines with Azure Data Factory. The work involves cloud data integration, transformation, and warehousing across enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data integration workflows using Azure Data Factory.
- Create and improve ETL and ELT pipelines for high-volume data processing.
- Connect and move data across SQL Server, Oracle, SAP, REST APIs, and cloud storage systems.
- Apply data transformation techniques through Mapping Data Flows, Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Track pipeline health, investigate failures, and enhance reliability and performance.
- Work with business users, data teams, and application teams to understand and deliver requirements.
- Set up and manage CI/CD deployment practices with Azure DevOps.
- Maintain standards for data quality, security, and governance.
- Assist with production releases and handle operational incidents as needed.
Experience and Technical Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Azure Data Factory development.
- Strong command over SQL development and query performance tuning.
- Prior exposure to cloud data platforms and data migration initiatives.
- Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum delivery methods.
Preferred Competencies
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
- Clear verbal and written communication with good stakeholder handling.
- Ability to work independently as well as with cross-functional teams.
