What this role involves

• Keep all audio-visual equipment clean and in good working condition.
• Install, configure, and prepare AV systems such as projectors, microphones, sound equipment, lighting, video monitors, cameras, and video conferencing tools.
• Verify that all devices are connected correctly and fully operational before presentations or events begin.
• Run AV systems during events to deliver clear audio and high-quality visuals.
• Handle live sound mixing, video switching, and lighting control during shows or functions.
• Carry out regular maintenance to keep equipment performing reliably.
• Identify faults, diagnose technical problems, and resolve equipment issues.
• Arrange repairs or fix malfunctioning AV gear as needed.
• Support event hosts, speakers, and other users with technical assistance.
• Help with setup and live operation so events run smoothly.
• Coordinate with event planners, IT staff, and other teams to meet event-specific technical needs.
• Track AV inventory with team members and keep records accurate.
• Maintain documentation for equipment stock, repair history, maintenance schedules, setup details, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Stay familiar with recreation areas, evening entertainment, and show requirements, including related technical needs.
• Support bands and performers during sound checks, stage preparation, and coordination of rider requirements.

Experience and qualifications

• At least 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in an AV Technician position, ideally in luxury hospitality, events, entertainment, or live production.
• A diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering, Audio Visual Technology, Electronics, or a similar technical field is a strong advantage.
• Hands-on knowledge of professional audio, video, lighting, and conferencing systems, including how to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot them.
• Practical ability with PA systems, mixers, amplifiers, projectors, LED screens, microphones, lighting consoles, and video displays.
• Experience with live sound mixing, video switching, lighting operation, and event show setup for conferences and entertainment programs.
• Understanding of signal paths, cabling, power distribution, and equipment safety practices.
• Good English communication skills for supporting presenters, performers, event organizers, and internal teams.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team in a busy, event-led hospitality environment.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to resolving technical issues.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, and public holidays based on operational needs and event schedules.
