Role Overview

This full-time, on-site role in Qatar calls for an Autocad Draftsman responsible for preparing detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings tailored to security, ELV, IT-ICT, and life safety system projects. The position involves interpreting engineers' design inputs, updating drawings in compliance with project standards, coordinating with project and site teams, and ensuring documentation accuracy for installation and commissioning. Additionally, the draftsman will maintain organized records, contribute to shop and as-built drawing development, and support improvements to drafting templates and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and revise detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings for security and ELV systems according to project specifications.
• Interpret design inputs from engineering teams and integrate review feedback into updated drawings.
• Collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure accuracy and clarity in drawings.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation including version control and drawing registers.
• Support preparation of shop drawings and as-built drawings for installations and commissioning processes.
• Contribute to continuous refinement of drafting procedures and templates to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Candidate Qualifications

• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D and 3D) drafting software and knowledgeable about industry-standard drawing protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics, layouts, and construction drawings related to security and ELV systems.
• Understanding of system layouts for CCTV, access control, fire alarm, and other low-current security systems.
• Experienced in managing documentation, revision control, and maintaining detailed drawing registers.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities for effective coordination among multidisciplinary teams.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle project deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
• Educational background includes a diploma or degree in engineering, drafting, or a related technical discipline. Professional AutoCAD certification is a plus.
• Previous experience working as an Autocad Draftsman on security, ELV, construction, or MEP projects, ideally within Qatar.
