Role Overview
The Assistant Project Manager plays a crucial support role, aiding Project Managers with industrial system integration initiatives by managing submittals, manpower allocation, resource coordination, change order tracking, and maintaining project documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to creating project proposals by evaluating timelines, costs, procedures, staffing needs, and allocation of resources across project phases.
- Collaborate with the documentation team to ensure all necessary submittal documents are complete and organized.
- Procure parts, supplies, and technical instruments in accordance with design specifications.
- Serve as an intermediary across departments to coordinate daily project operations.
- Maintain and update project records, including change orders.
- Participate in project review meetings with contractors and customers.
- Evaluate change orders and adjust pricing to preserve budget and profitability.
- Assist preparing project status reports for management, contractors, customers, and engineering partners.
- Manage Job Hazard Analyses documentation.
- Support Project Managers by representing them at meetings as required.
Candidate Profile
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management, project management, engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of full-time experience in architecture, pre-construction, construction, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to implement technology-based solutions in planning or executing assignments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with industry tools like costing estimators (RS Means or equivalents), scheduling software (MS Project or similar), CAD or BIM platforms, visual communication tools (Bluebeam or similar), and project tracking/document control software such as Procore.
- Sound understanding of programming, design, and construction fundamentals.
- Experience with industrial automation projects.
- Proven record of managing team and client meetings, generating RFIs, Action Item Lists, and meeting minutes.
- Experience using customer portals for project documentation management.
- Knowledge of control systems involving Rockwell hardware and AVEVA software.
- Familiarity with datacenter BMS and EPMS equipment.
- Experience collaborating with electrical installation contractors.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
