Dredging Overview
The dredging business has grown from a basic dredging operation into a full-service provider. It is the largest dredging organization over the last 20 years, with capabilities across maintenance dredging, capital dredging, and environmental dredging solutions.
Role Purpose
This position is responsible for carrying out hydrographic and topographic surveys in support of dredging activities. The role uses a range of instruments to produce accurate bathymetric maps while maintaining strict data quality controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan survey work while accounting for environmental conditions, project requirements, and resource deployment.
- Perform advanced hydrographic survey activities and identify sediment movement and navigational hazards relevant to dredging and safety.
- Prepare underwater maps, charts, and models using tools such as Hypack and AutoCAD.
- Review tidal information to maintain depth measurement consistency and correct for tidal influence in dredging operations.
- Maintain survey equipment in ready-to-use condition, ensure calibration, and arrange timely maintenance.
- Manage survey records, data storage, backups, and standardized formats for operational use.
- Apply quality checks to ensure survey data is dependable, properly validated, and fit for use.
- Compile and present clear reports and maintain accessible records for stakeholders.
- Coordinate with survey leadership on budgets and monitor spending for efficient resource usage.
- Continuously review survey methods and adopt improvements that raise efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay updated on digital tools and AI developments to strengthen business performance and competitiveness.

Education and Experience
A diploma in Survey, Naval Survey Recorder, Diploma in Civil Engineering, or B.Tech in Civil Engineering is required. The preferred background includes 5 years of experience in hydrographic and topographic surveying.
