Assistant Manager Fulfilment Operations

Overview

Join noon as an Assistant Manager for Fulfilment Operations based in Dubai, UAE, reporting to the Head of Fulfilment. Work with a dynamic and fast-paced team to support the launch and growth of The Dubai Mall Online, a cutting-edge e-commerce platform uniting multiple retail brands in a seamless online shopping experience. This role is vital in building and managing fulfillment and last-mile delivery operations from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the physical setup and daily operations of the Consolidation Center and FBN Warehouse located at Hall 5, Zabeel Park. The facility consolidates store-picked orders for packaging and dispatch while also warehousing brand inventory for direct fulfillment.
• Create and implement comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures covering all warehouse functions including inbound receiving, putaway, quality control, packaging, outbound dispatch, cycle counting, and returns processing.
• Manage Warehouse Management System (WMS) for accurate inventory control and stock visibility, while overseeing key metrics such as throughput, inventory accuracy, SLA compliance, and returns processing efficiency.
• Establish and run the Dubai Mall branded delivery fleet handling hyperlocal and same-day/next-day deliveries across Dubai and the wider UAE, including driver onboarding, briefing, route planning, and dispatch.
• Supervise daily delivery operations and promptly resolve any exceptions affecting service quality, tracking key delivery KPIs such as on-time delivery rates, failed deliveries, cash on delivery reconciliation, and return-to-warehouse rates.
• Recruit, onboard, and lead a ground-level team comprising consolidation center workers, runners, cart drivers, and delivery drivers, including managing two supervisors and their teams responsible for picking, consolidation, and delivery fleet activities.
• Oversee shift planning, attendance monitoring, and performance management, with a focus on evolving ground staff into team leadership roles.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Seller Operations for inbound and packaging compliance, the tech team for WMS and mobile app integration, and senior management to report infrastructure or equipment needs and assist with real-time fulfillment monitoring and issue resolution.

Qualifications & Experience

• 6 to 8+ years of experience in fulfillment, warehouse, or last-mile delivery operations, specifically with greenfield or startup projects involving building operations from scratch.
• Hands-on expertise in warehouse management systems, including slotting, cycle counts, inventory control, and stock replenishment.
• Proven experience managing last-mile delivery and fleet operations efficiently.
• Demonstrated ability to build, hire, and develop operational teams from the ground up.
• Strong data orientation with proficiency in KPI dashboards, shift reporting, and exception case handling.
• Background in e-commerce or quick commerce environments is highly preferred.
• Experience working in the UAE is advantageous.
• Willingness to be actively present on the warehouse floor, especially during initial setup and launch phases.
