Role overview
W Hotels is seeking an Assistant Loss Prevention Manager in Singapore to support property safety, security operations, and guest protection at a full-time, non-management level. The role focuses on monitoring the premises, responding to incidents, maintaining reports and controls, and helping ensure a secure and welcoming environment for guests and employees.
Key duties
- Patrol the property, secure guest rooms when needed, and help guests access their rooms safely.
- Carry out emergency response practice runs, routine safety and hazard checks, investigations, interviews, and key-control audits.
- Keep an eye on CCTV feeds and alarm systems, and manage access to restricted areas by authorizing, tracking, and recording entry.
- Support guests and employees during emergencies, accidents, and other urgent situations; contact EMS or provide first aid/CPR when required.
- Collect incident details, prepare accurate reports, and safeguard confidential records by sharing information only with approved individuals.
- Calm disturbances, address safety risks, handle complaints and interruptions, and remove unwelcome persons from the property when necessary.
- Help ensure compliance with alcohol control regulations and call for backup using the correct code procedures.
- Prepare the paperwork needed for employees and assist management with training, coaching, and motivating team members.
Work expectations
- Model company policies and procedures, complete required safety training and certifications, and promptly report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance and protect confidential and proprietary information as well as company assets.
- Deliver warm, standards-based guest service by acknowledging guests, anticipating needs, and thanking them sincerely.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, complete written documentation accurately, and answer phones with proper etiquette.
- Build cooperative relationships across the team, support shared goals, and respond appropriately to colleagues’ concerns.
- Meet quality standards and be prepared for physical duties such as standing for long periods, moving quickly, lifting up to 50 pounds without help and over 75 pounds with assistance, and working in confined, elevated, uneven, or slippery spaces.
- Use computers and point-of-sale systems to enter and retrieve work-related information, and visually check printed or digital information carefully.
- Handle other duties assigned by supervisors.
Preferred background
Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, at least 2 years of relevant work experience, and at least 1 year of supervisory experience. No license or certification is required, although some locations may have additional state licensing or registration requirements.
