Assistant HVAC Technician

Job Overview

This role involves providing support in operation and maintenance of HVAC systems including AHUs, FCUs, exhaust, and chilled water systems within cleanroom and production environments. The assistant technician will contribute to preventive and corrective maintenance efforts, ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical GMP and environmental standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Help maintain and operate HVAC equipment such as air handling units, fan coil units, exhaust systems, and chilled water installations.
• Participate in scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Continuously monitor HVAC system parameters and promptly report any anomalies.
• Assist in the replacement and cleaning of filters, along with performing basic troubleshooting procedures.
• Ensure HVAC operations comply with cleanroom environmental and GMP standards.
• Coordinate with supervisors and maintenance staff during shutdowns and facility maintenance events.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and pharmaceutical GMP regulations at all times.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC-related disciplines.
• Between one and three years of experience maintaining HVAC systems.
• Prior experience within pharmaceutical, healthcare, or cleanroom settings is considered advantageous.
• Fundamental knowledge of HVAC system components and hand tools.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Flexibility to work in rotating shifts as needed.

Preferred Abilities

• Familiarity with HVAC systems specific to cleanroom environments.
• Understanding of preventive maintenance strategies.
• Experience or knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) is a plus.
