Role overview
Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort is looking for an energetic and driven Assistant Director of Sales to join its five-star hospitality team in Wicklow. This position is suited to someone who enjoys creating business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and helping grow revenue in a luxury hotel environment.
Purpose of the role
The main objective of this position is to generate new business and oversee relationships with key accounts so the hotel can increase revenue from corporate and conference segments. You will also coordinate sales activity and make sure resources are directed where they can deliver the strongest return for the property.
Key responsibilities
- Source and develop new business opportunities for the hotel, with a focus on the local corporate and conference market.
- Work to a weekly appointment target.
- Look after an allocated portfolio of accounts and take responsibility for their growth and revenue performance.
- Carry out market research and keep track of competitors’ transient and group strategies.
- Monitor competitor hotels through rate checks, review of benefits, and analysis of key account activity.
- Maintain existing business relationships while also building a wider network for new opportunities in Ireland and overseas.
- Record and monitor all lost and declined leads for future business potential.
- Handle a range of sales activities, including sales visits and appointments, telesales, site inspections, corporate hospitality, familiarisation visits, and trade show attendance.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant will have hotel sales experience, be confident working with targets, and bring a positive, professional approach. Strong communication, relationship-building, and leadership ability are important, along with a customer-first mindset and a standards-led attitude.
Eligibility and working requirements
Applicants must hold a full clean driving licence and have their own transport. Candidates must also be eligible to live and work full time in Ireland and be able to provide documented proof of that eligibility.
Experience and background
At least 2 years of previous experience in a similar hotel sales role is required. Previous experience in hospitality is essential. The role also requires experience in setting annual sales budgets.
