Role Overview

As an integral part of the Enterprise Risk Management team at NTUC, you will spearhead the development of the organisation's enterprise risk leadership and strategic approach. This includes reviewing and refining governance frameworks and policies while formulating effective risk mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the creation, execution, and ongoing improvement of NTUC’s comprehensive risk management strategy and framework, ensuring coherence with the organisation’s vision, mission, strategic aims, and external environment changes.
  • Regularly evaluate and enhance NTUC’s ERM frameworks, policies, and procedures, keeping them aligned with leading industry practices to support strong risk oversight and accountability.
  • Lead the full annual cycle of risk assessments throughout NTUC’s various business units by facilitating workshops, interviews, and environmental scanning to detect, assess, and prioritize risks.
  • Collaborate with different business units to embed risk intelligence into strategic and operational planning and execution phases.
  • Oversee the creation and rollout of risk mitigation strategies and action plans in partnership with cross-functional teams to effectively manage principal enterprise risks.
  • Design and maintain key risk indicators (KRIs), dashboards, and reporting tools to monitor exposure levels, track trends, and provide insightful risk data to management to aid resilience and mitigation efforts.
  • Compile and deliver comprehensive risk reports and analyses to senior management, NTUC’s Central Committee, Audit, Risk and Governance Committee, and other key stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making and strategic cohesion.
  • Promote a pervasive culture of risk awareness by integrating risk considerations into daily operations, conducting focused risk training, and fostering accountability at all organisational levels.
  • Coordinate closely with compliance, governance, internal audit, and risk coordinators within NTUC entities to refine risk processes, align efforts, and fortify the control environment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 8 years of experience in enterprise risk management, with a minimum of 3 years in leadership roles, preferably within federated or multi-entity organisations.
  • Background in governance, audit, or compliance is advantageous.
  • Professional certifications such as CRMP, CRMA, or equivalent are required.
  • Demonstrated capability in leading risk assessments, devising mitigation plans, and managing their execution.
  • Strong leadership qualities with proven experience in developing and managing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing senior leadership effectively.
  • Familiarity with digital risk management tools and reporting platforms is a plus.
  • Well-versed in regulatory standards and risk management frameworks like ISO 31000 and COSO ERM.
