Assistant Athletic Director, General Manager of NIL Administration

Position Summary

The Assistant Athletic Director acting as General Manager of NIL Administration will be responsible for overseeing every facet of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) operations for Illinois State University's Intercollegiate Athletics department. Key duties involve managing rosters, generating revenue, fostering brand partnerships, facilitating authentic NIL opportunities, administering revenue-sharing and collective payments, and maintaining contract workflows. This role will maintain all communications and activities related to NIL with external partners including alumni, donors, business owners, representatives, collectives, and other third parties associated with Illinois State University's NIL initiatives. It also involves handling student-athlete representation and contract negotiation processes for NIL arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and evaluate all NIL activity across Illinois State's athletic programs.
• Oversee external stakeholder relationships involving alumni, businesses, donors, and third parties.
• Negotiate and administer contracts related to student-athlete NIL deals.
• Serve as general manager for all sports programs, assessing coaches' recruiting classes, on-field performance, NIL expenditures, and roster administration.
• Coordinate and promote educational events about NIL compliance and opportunities.
• Highlight achievements of student-athletes and assist them in promoting and safeguarding their name, image, and likeness rights.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or a comparable qualification.
• At least two years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in Division 1 collegiate athletics administration, preferably within compliance, NIL management, or a related area.
• Comprehensive understanding of NCAA regulations and NIL legislation.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities.

Additional Information

Salary Range: $60,000 to $70,008 annually

Location: Normal, Illinois - onsite position
