Role Overview
The Area Business Manager position is a full-time on-site role located in the Cluster, Western Region of Uganda. The incumbent will be responsible for spearheading business expansion and maintaining portfolio quality across the designated area. Key duties involve managing branch or field teams, establishing performance goals, and overseeing everyday operations to ensure adherence to internal regulations and compliance standards. The role requires leadership in cultivating local market growth, identifying potential clients, forging strategic partnerships, and supporting teams in loan origination and management targeting MSMEs and low-income households.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular field visits, evaluate team performance, and provide training and mentorship.
- Implement operational processes to enhance customer satisfaction and improve efficiency.
- Analyze data and generate reports to inform decision-making regarding risk control, collection strategies, and market expansion.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience in retail lending, MSME finance, or microfinance with in-depth knowledge of credit processes and portfolio oversight.
- Proven leadership skills including team management, coaching, and field supervision.
- Strong capabilities in sales, business development, and maintaining relationships with local enterprises and community groups.
- Competence in data analysis, problem-solving, and comfortable using financial reporting tools and MS Office.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively engage various customer and internal segments.
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related disciplines; postgraduate qualifications are considered beneficial.
- Familiarity with the Cluster area local markets and readiness for frequent travel within the assigned area.
- Dedication to ethical conduct, promoting financial inclusion, and responsible lending practices.
