Architectural Inspector (Unlimited Architect RAK approved)

Role Overview

Stantec is seeking an Architectural Inspector to strengthen its site supervision function in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. The position supports project delivery by monitoring site conditions, verifying workmanship and materials, and helping ensure that architectural and interior design works align with contract requirements and approved documents.

What You Will Do

• Assess site conditions before construction begins, confirm the site matches the intended permanent works, and identify any obstructions.
• Record and photograph the condition of existing property areas that could be affected by the works.
• Check materials delivered to site against approved samples, equipment, and specifications, then report any non-conformities.
• Verify that delivered materials are stored properly and escalate any storage or handling issues.
• Inspect temporary and permanent works to confirm compliance with contract documents, shop drawings, and submittals.
• Maintain daily logs, inspection records, test records, and work progress documentation in line with the Contract Administration Procedures Manual.
• Monitor site safety practices and overall work progress, and raise concerns when needed.
• Support inspections of completed works, prepare punch lists, and follow through on startup, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Assist in reviewing shop drawings and material submittals related to architectural and interior design works.
• Carry out additional tasks assigned by the direct manager.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering, or another directly related discipline.
• Valid approval for an Unlimited Architect RAK Municipality license is mandatory.
• At least 8 years of experience in a comparable role.
• Background in healthcare or hospital projects is required.
• Minimum 3 years of construction administration experience in the UAE, preferably with consultancy firms, along with exposure to Middle East building projects.
• Experience reviewing interior design drawings and conducting on-site inspections.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Solid knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, and trade practices.
• Comfortable using computers and standard office tools.
