About Turning Rock Partners
Turning Rock Partners is a North America-based opportunistic credit asset management firm concentrating on providing debt and structured equity solutions to capital-restricted middle-market companies. Their focus lies in value-driven, opportunistic investments that incorporate downside risk protection. Investment vehicles include corporate debt, structured equity, and other private financings or asset purchases targeting cash-flowing lower and mid-market firms.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive fundamental credit analysis across various industries by evaluating business models, financial outcomes, liquidity states, capital structures, covenant packages, and overall credit quality.
- Create, manage, and improve sophisticated financial models and develop detailed investment memoranda and presentations for both internal use and external stakeholders.
- Identify and assess investment opportunities, offering well-founded proposals and aiding in portfolio decision-making.
- Collaborate with senior team members during deal execution, overseeing due diligence phases, coordinating with external advisors, reviewing earnings quality and legal diligence, structuring transaction terms, and handling confidentiality agreements and other documentation.
- Interact directly with executive-level management, lenders, sponsors, and funding partners, representing the firm during meetings, diligence processes, and strategic discussions.
- Build and sustain robust relationships with company leadership, industry authorities, and proprietary data sources to improve sector expertise and accuracy in underwriting.
- Leverage knowledge of capital structures and financing options to design innovative private credit and structured equity solutions customized to the issuers’ requirements.
- Examine, interpret, and advise on complex legal documents such as credit agreements, intercreditor agreements, purchase agreements, and offering materials.
Qualifications
- Between one and three years of experience in investment banking focusing on leveraged finance or restructuring; experience in private or opportunistic credit investing is advantageous.
- Proven proficiency in advanced financial modeling including building operational models, debt waterfalls, covenant analysis, liquidity forecasting, downside scenario planning, and recovery assessments.
- Competence in navigating complex debt and equity investment deals.
- Strong ability to function both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.
