Role overview
As an Analyst in Finalta by McKinsey, you will contribute to benchmarking work for banks and insurers, helping clients understand their performance relative to peers and identify practical improvements. The role sits within McKinsey’s Financial Institution Group (FIG) Practice in Gurugram and combines client interaction, data validation, and analytical problem-solving.
How you will contribute
- Take ownership of datasets and work directly with clients to collect, verify, and assess data quality.
- Support multiple clients at the same time during 6-month benchmarking study cycles.
- Partner with your team to test hypotheses and develop insights from analysis.
- Manage a portfolio of clients across recurring annual benchmarking cycles.
- Coordinate with global teams working on the same benchmark and exchange perspectives, ideas, and market learnings.
- Engage with senior stakeholders when findings are presented.

Work pattern
The majority of the project cycle is handled remotely, so regular time on client site is not a major requirement. You may still meet senior stakeholders during delivery stages, while most of the work can be planned flexibly.
Qualifications and success factors
- An MBA or master’s degree is preferred.
- Recent graduates or professionals with 1+ years of experience in strategy, market research, consulting, financial services, or similar fields are encouraged.
- Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills are essential.
- Good client-facing and relationship-management abilities are important.
- An independent, proactive approach with strong time management and delivery discipline is expected.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
