Aircraft Mechanic

General Overview

The Aircraft Mechanic role involves delivering aircraft maintenance services in Singapore for Qatar Airways, supporting all operational needs under the guidance of the Station Maintenance Manager. All maintenance and related tasks must adhere strictly to company and customer procedures as well as aircraft maintenance documentation.

Key Duties

• Provide advice and support to the Duty Engineer regarding the aircraft and technical documentation to ensure accurate and timely information recording.
• Follow all company health, safety, and environmental standards and regulations strictly.
• Verify that all tools and equipment are in proper working condition before use.
• Inspect aircraft, engines, and components thoroughly for any cracks, breaks, or leaks.
• Clean and service moving parts and carry out assigned maintenance tasks on aircraft.
• Offer assistance during aircraft on ground (AOG) situations in Singapore and other regions where Qatar Airways operates.
• Travel as necessary to stations for aircraft recovery missions.
• Perform Line Maintenance services for customer airlines according to contracts between Qatar Airways and operators, adhering to customer protocols.
• Manage and maintain the Line store in compliance with Qatar Airways standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a degree or diploma in Aircraft Maintenance or a relevant trade/vocational aircraft maintenance certification.
• Have a minimum of five years of experience working with modern jet aircraft.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of fundamental aircraft maintenance principles.
• Experience working on aircraft types including A350, A380, B777 Passenger/Freighter, and B787.
• Ability to work independently and execute tasks without supervision.
• Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate within teams and stakeholders.
• Capable of managing high workload volumes within a 24/7 operational schedule.
• Experience in operational and tactical decision-making.
• Ability to prioritize tasks to ensure sequential completion in complex processes.
• Legal authorization to reside and work in Singapore is mandatory.
