About the Role
An Air Corps Recruit enlists for General Service within the Defence Forces, offering an exciting and varied career path focused on aviation, safety, and collaboration. The role demands individuals with strong integrity, dedication, and a commitment to high standards.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be aged between 18 and under 39 years, with age verification required at advanced recruitment stages.
- Minimum height requirement is 5 feet 2 inches (157.48 cm), to be measured during selection.
- No visible tattoos above the collar are permitted while serving; candidates will be screened for this and disqualified if criteria are not met.
- Must satisfy working permit requirements to serve, including having at least 5 years of residency eligibility in Ireland with documentation proof.
- Must fulfill medical, physical fitness, and security clearance standards assessed during recruitment.
Training and Career Progression
- Initial basic Recruit Training lasts for 13 weeks.
- Following basic training, candidates enter a 12-week Three Star Training phase; successful candidates are then promoted to Airman/Airwoman.
- Post-training posting is at Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel, Co. Dublin.
- Opportunities to specialize in various roles such as Flight Attendant, Aviation Fire Crew, Air Traffic Controller, Sensor & Radar Operator, Aircraft Trainee Technician, Aviation Photographer, Logistics, Specialist Helicopter Aircrew, and Operations.
