AI & Innovation Lead

Role overview

Amadeus is seeking an AI & Innovation Lead to serve as a senior technology specialist who can spot, shape, and advance innovative solutions that solve customer challenges, with a particular emphasis on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and emerging technologies.

This position sits at the intersection of customer needs and technical innovation. You will combine practical technical depth with strong client-facing skills to explore ideas, build and present prototypes, and help mature validated concepts into scalable solutions alongside global teams.

What you will do

In this role, you will work across innovation strategy, solution discovery, prototyping, adoption, and cross-functional collaboration. You will engage with stakeholders, turn ideas into working proofs of concept, and help ensure that innovation efforts fit the customer’s architecture and business direction.

• Meet customer stakeholders to uncover business priorities, pain points, and opportunities where advanced technologies can deliver value.
• Recommend and champion new approaches using AI, machine learning, and other emerging technologies.
• Refine and challenge customer requests by suggesting alternative solution paths when appropriate.
• Help position innovation as a driver of business transformation within the Saudia ecosystem.
• Build and deliver proofs of concept and prototypes that demonstrate feasibility and practical value.
• Choose suitable tools and technologies to quickly test and improve solution ideas.
• Show prototypes to customer stakeholders and capture structured feedback.
• Assess the scalability, feasibility, and business impact of innovation initiatives.
• Support the move from approved PoCs to scalable solutions in partnership with global teams.
• Keep initiatives aligned with customer architecture and strategic goals.
• Contribute to implementation planning when prototypes are transitioned into delivery.
• Balance ambitious innovation with real-world applicability and measurable business value.
• Track developments in AI, machine learning, and digital innovation.
• Introduce new ideas and solutions to customers and evaluate how well they fit their environment.
• Act as an inspiration point within the customer organization.
• Run innovation workshops and ideation sessions with stakeholders.
• Work closely with global technical teams supporting innovation work.
• Partner with architects to maintain alignment with the overall solution architecture.
• Communicate clearly on innovation progress, outcomes, and lessons learned.
• Encourage agile, experimental ways of working across teams.

What we are looking for

• A relevant academic background in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience in technical roles involving AI, machine learning, digital solutions, or innovation-led development.
• Practical experience creating prototypes or proofs of concept in real-world settings.
• Strong ability to convert business needs into innovative solutions that are technically achievable.
• Experience working across functions and in international environments.
• Confidence to work independently and carry initiatives from idea stage through to prototype.
• Prior exposure to aviation or travel technology is beneficial.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and business audiences.
• English proficiency is required; Arabic knowledge is an added advantage.
