Position Overview

Role: AI Engineer
Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada (onsite)
Employment Type: Full-time, contract role

Experience and Core Expertise

• 8 to 10 years of professional experience in application development or systems analysis.
• Strong foundational knowledge in generative AI, machine learning model development, data science, statistics, and AI fundamentals including natural language processing, neural networks, and large language models.

Generative AI and LLM Experience

• Hands-on expertise with top large language models such as Google Gemini, OpenAI models, Anthropic Claude, Mistral, Llama, and various open-source LLMs.
• In-depth experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, including advanced techniques and practical implementation.
• Proficient in building, optimizing, and deploying LLM-powered applications using platforms like Vertex AI and Hugging Face.
• Skilled in developing prompt engineering strategies, fine-tuning prompts, and creating reusable prompt templates.
• Experience implementing use cases based on agentic frameworks.
• Knowledge of guardrails and assessment methods to ensure performance and safety of generative AI features.

Programming and Data Engineering Skills

• Strong proficiency in Python programming, with extensive experience in libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Transformers, FastAPI, Seaborn, LangChain, and LlamaIndex.
• Expertise integrating generative AI capabilities into enterprise applications through APIs, knowledge graphs, and orchestration tools.
• Experience with vector databases like PG Vector, Pinecone, Mongo Atlas, and Neo4j for effective data storage and retrieval.
• Capable of handling large volumes of unstructured data and designing solutions for high-throughput data processing.

Deployment and MLOps

• Proven ability to deploy generative AI models into production environments.
• Strong understanding and hands-on practice with MLOps principles including model evaluation and implementing reliable deployment pipelines.
• Experienced with CI/CD tools and workflows such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, and ArgoCD for automated building, testing, and deployment processes.

Cloud and Containerization

• Experience working with container orchestration platforms like OpenShift or Kubernetes to deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications in cloud-native environments.

Soft Skills

• Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Comfortable working independently on complex and ambiguous challenges.
