Role Overview
Kids Inc., a leading provider of Early Years and Afterschool Care in Ireland with over 25 years of experience, is seeking a part-time Kitchen Assistant for the 2026/2027 school term at St. Brigid's NS, Greystones, County Wicklow. This position involves preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks within a safe, welcoming afterschool environment, ensuring children's dietary needs and food safety standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve healthy snacks adhering to the Healthy Eating Policy.
- Safely reheat and serve pre-prepared meals efficiently.
- Assist the Centre Manager in planning weekly snack menus.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the kitchen.
- Strictly follow food hygiene and HACCP protocols, including documentation.
- Operate kitchen appliances safely and effectively.
- Consider children’s dietary restrictions and allergies during food preparation and service.
Candidate Profile
- Friendly, dependable, and well-organized individual.
- Experience in kitchen or catering roles handling food preparation.
- Possession of a valid HACCP or Food Safety certification.
- Knowledge of proper food hygiene practices.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficient in English.
Additional Information and Terms
- Hourly wage: €14.15.
- Guaranteed minimum of 10 working hours each week during the term-time.
- Work schedule consists of 3-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, between 1:30pm and 6:30pm; exact hours confirmed prior to commencement.
