Role Overview
The Accounts Officer role is a part-time position based in Dubai, offering a hybrid working arrangement that combines both on-site duties and opportunities to work from home. The core responsibility is to manage and update financial records for the residency and its programs, ensuring meticulous preparation and review of financial statements. The role entails handling invoice processing, payment management, bank and account statement reconciliations, and delivering timely and accurate financial reports that comply with non-profit standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial documentation accurately on a day-to-day basis.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements for internal use.
- Assist in budgeting and monitor expenses related to the residency programs.
- Process invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Reconcile bank and account statements regularly to verify accuracy.
- Provide finance-related assistance and answer inquiries from stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners for smooth financial operations.
- Support the establishment and refinement of effective financial procedures.
- Work alongside program leadership to offer financial insights that aid decision-making and organizational growth.
Qualifications and Skills
- A solid understanding of finance principles and experience with preparing and scrutinizing financial statements.
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret financial data and recognize trends for strategic support.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to address queries and interact with diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Previous experience in accounting or finance roles, ideally within non-profit or cultural sectors.
- Competency in accounting software and spreadsheet tools such as Excel or Google Sheets, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities independently while safeguarding confidential financial data.
- Preferably holds academic qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
- Comfortable working in a multicultural international environment; experience with literary or arts organizations is a plus.
