Position Overview
This is a nine-month contractual role for an Accountant based in Singapore. The role focuses on accounting operations, finance reporting, compliance, and process improvement within a dynamic fintech environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly accounting closures.
- Prepare monthly financial and analytical reports.
- Review reconciliation reports for bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, intercompany transactions, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Manage bank payment processes.
- Offer financial guidance and proactive support to management and operational teams.
- Prepare financial statements and tax computations.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and company secretaries regarding statutory reporting requirements.
- Drive and implement continuous process improvements.
- Maintain robust internal control systems and uphold corporate governance standards.
- Assist in developing new processes and implementing systems as needed.
- Perform additional duties or projects assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in accounting, finance, banking, or a related field, and/or professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, or CPA.
- Between 1 to 2 years of relevant experience; experience at Big 4 or audit firms is advantageous.
- Keen interest in finance industry developments, especially regulatory and technical updates such as IFRS, tax laws, and domestic regulations.
- Experience in financial services or fintech sectors is a plus.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including lookups, pivot tables, and conditional formulas.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and a collaborative team player.
- Adaptable and willing to take on responsibilities beyond defined roles to resolve problems.
