Academic Counsellor

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Academic Counsellor to join our team in Hyderabad, focused on supporting admissions and student engagement for a medical university. The ideal candidate will guide medical students from the US, Canada, and India through the application process and provide mentoring on academic and extracurricular interests.

Key Responsibilities

• Support students in their transition from high school to college, advising on course choices, applications, financial aid, scholarships, and adapting to new educational environments.
• Conduct structured counseling sessions to assess and address the learning needs of students and their parents.
• Schedule and hold daily counseling appointments, including follow-ups to ensure continuous support.
• Manage objections and engage in price negotiations aimed at generating sales revenue.
• Continuously enhance sales techniques and knowledge to meet and surpass sales objectives.
• Understand and interpret consumer behaviors of students and parents to tailor counseling approaches effectively.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in counselling, education, psychology, or a related discipline.
• Fluency in English, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil languages.
• 3 to 4 years of proven experience in academic or education counselling, especially within medical university settings.
• Strong relationship-building skills with students, parents, educators, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to establish trust and rapport with students and their families.
