Worship Musician

Role Overview

The Worship Musician position supports religious services at the Rock Chapel in the Baumholder area of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. This is a part-time contract role scheduled as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer live musical support for worship services, rehearsals, and special faith-based events.
• Play the required music for preludes, interludes, offertories, and postludes when needed.
• Support congregational singing, choirs, solo performers, and worship teams through accompaniment.
• Take part in rehearsals when scheduled, with each required rehearsal lasting at least one hour.
• Arrive no later than 30 minutes before each service to complete setup and sound check.
• Work closely with the Master Musician Coordinator and worship leaders on song selection, tempo, and musical style.

Minimum Qualifications

• Skilled in piano, keyboard, or another suitable instrument.
• Able to read and perform from sheet music and/or chord charts.
• Background in accompanying vocalists or playing in an ensemble or group setting.
• Comfortable taking direction and collaborating with worship leaders and musical teams.
• Dependable, punctual, and consistent in attendance.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience performing in church, worship, or other religious settings.
• Ability to perform a range of musical styles, including traditional, contemporary, and liturgical music.
• Experience supporting choirs or instrumental ensembles.
