About the Role
Become a vital member of Howdens, the leading Trade Kitchen Supplier in the UK, by joining as a Warehouse Person. This role is essential in ensuring that trade customers receive their products timely through excellent organization and maintenance of warehouse stock in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Maintaining high health and safety standards and pride in the handling of inventory are key components of this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Unload deliveries and verify stock with accuracy adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift trucks and other equipment.
- Secure stock and prepare it precisely for dispatch.
- Conduct routine stock audits and maintain meticulous records.
- Keep the warehouse orderly, clean and efficiently utilize stock rotation methods.
- Provide professional and effective assistance to trade customers.
- Aid in deliveries, collections and general warehouse workflow.
- Collaborate closely with the depot team to ensure smooth operation of the warehouse.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a valid forklift license is an advantage.
- Solid knowledge of stock control and health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as cooperatively within a team.
- Meticulous attention to detail especially in stock management and record keeping.
- Competency in literacy, numeracy, and time management.
- Customer-focused approach coupled with a positive, professional demeanor.
- Effective communication skills and strong organizational abilities.
- Dependable, hands-on individual who values a safe, tidy, and well-organized workplace.
