Role Overview

The Vehicle Field Inspector is tasked with thoroughly inspecting assigned vehicles and producing an accurate Condition Report (CR) that reflects each vehicle's state. Inspections commonly take place at dealerships, but may also occur at company facilities. The role requires travel, exceptional attention to detail, and strong relationship-building skills with customers. Additional related duties may be assigned to support business operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle inspections at various locations including dealerships, physical auctions, and off-site venues.
• Identify and document structural damages, frame integrity, prior and substandard paint repairs, alignment of body panels, missing parts, and mechanical issues.
• Apply training, industry best practices, and management guidelines to conduct inspections and prepare documentation.
• Build and maintain robust customer relationships via consistent communication to exceed expectations.
• Ensure high accuracy in inspection reports to reduce disputes and arbitration.
• Follow health and safety protocols diligently.
• If required, locate, operate, and maneuver vehicles as directed.
• Execute additional related duties as needed.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum age of 21 years with reliable personal transportation and valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• High School Diploma or equivalent credential.
• Preferred 1-3 years experience within the automotive industry.
• Strong problem-solving skills employing resourceful and innovative methods.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team.
• Proficient driving skills for both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Familiarity with web-based applications and automotive inspection equipment is preferred.
• Detail-oriented, dependable, and focused on delivering excellent customer service.

Working Conditions

• Willingness and ability to work under varying weather conditions.
• Physical capability to bend, squat, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended durations.
• Occasional exposure to loud sounds and chemicals.
