Role Overview

This position seeks seasoned insurance professionals specializing in underwriting and actuarial fields to contribute remotely on a freelance basis. The engagement involves interpreting actual insurance workflows into AI-compatible tasks, assessing AI outputs for accuracy and relevance, and enhancing AI model performance through detailed feedback.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert real insurance processes into clear, structured assignments for AI systems.
• Assess AI-generated results for precision, logical coherence, and business applicability.
• Engage in use case developments across underwriting, claims, actuarial analysis, and operational aspects of insurance.
• Detect performance limitations such as gaps, exceptional scenarios, and failure points in AI models.
• Document all underlying assumptions, reasoning, and decisions with clarity.
• Provide comprehensive, structured input aimed at refining AI functionality and outcomes.

Qualifications

• At least five years of relevant professional experience within the insurance industry.
• Recent active roles as an Underwriter, Risk Specialist, or Actuary are essential.
• Deep knowledge of insurance workflow structures and business processes.
• Meticulous attention to detail with capability to interpret complex, subtle real-world situations.
• Self-motivated and able to work autonomously in a dynamic and remote work environment.

Work Environment and Expectations

• Work performed primarily asynchronously, allowing flexible hours.
• Minimal meetings held, generally optional office hours only.
• Daily coordination and task execution managed through Slack and proprietary internal communication tools.
• Candidates must promptly complete onboarding and engage with the project team within 24 hours following contract acceptance.

Compensation and Commitment

• Contract remuneration ranging from $100 to $125 per hour.
• Minimum commitment of 10 hours per week, with an ideal range of 15 to 20 hours dependent on candidate interest and availability.
• Immediate start required with expedited onboarding.
