Trainee Manager

Position Overview

This role entails assisting the store management team across all operational areas while gaining hands-on exposure in various store departments.

Candidate Profile

• Preferably at least one year of experience in retail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Word.
• Experience handling cash registers and balancing tills is advantageous.
• Knowledge of fresh food handling.
• Strong communication and delegation abilities.
• Highly motivated with a solid work ethic.
• Commercial mindset and understanding of brand principles.
• Enthusiastic about grocery retail industry.
• Capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold Centra’s brand values: pride, energy, creativity, and community focus.
• Collaborate with team to set and meet sales targets including gross and net margin, waste control, and other key performance indicators under the Store Manager's guidance.
• Participate actively in all training, development programs, and performance evaluations.
• Maintain store presentation and merchandising to a high standard following store planograms and guidelines.
• Ensure planograms are implemented correctly with appropriate product ranges.
• Develop competence in supply chain procedures, including ordering, deliveries, stock rotation, and inventory management.
• Manage designated store departments effectively.
• Embrace new store initiatives and adapt to changing operational methods.

Additional Information

The salary will be determined based on the candidate’s experience. Working hours include afternoon shifts and some weekend duties.
