Role Overview
We are currently seeking a TPC Winder at our Walkerton manufacturing facility. This role supports production departments such as control, distribution, reactor, and potted assembly by ensuring timely supply of transformer coils per production needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Select winding kits based on production schedules or guidance from team leads or supervisors.
- Inspect winding kits to confirm materials are adequate and correct.
- Set up TPC winding machines by loading wires according to winding order specifications.
- Load winding programs matching order requirements or coordinate with team lead to create necessary programs.
- Ensure all coils are wound strictly following specifications; seek manufacturing engineering approval for any deviations.
- Conduct first-off sample runs to verify equipment setup prior to full production runs.
- Perform ratio tests on all initial coils and additional tests as per Ratio/Polarity Standard Process Instructions (SPI).
- Confirm finished coils meet specified dimensions and tolerance levels per drawings.
- Repeat above process for Broomfield winding machines as applicable.
- Promptly report any quality concerns to Quality Assurance using established protocols and forms.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of High School (Grade 12).
- Additional education or training in manufacturing or electrical principles is considered an advantage.
