Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Team Leader to supervise our Frames & Crushing division located in Manurewa. This newly established position is integral in supporting manufacturing and recycling operations within the organization.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader working directly with the team while offering guidance, coaching, and support. Responsibilities include managing daily production targets, prioritizing safety and efficiency, promoting continuous enhancements, and ensuring accurate operational record-keeping.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and execute daily production priorities to meet efficiency and throughput objectives.
- Lead the team actively by working side-by-side, fostering performance, safety adherence, and accountability.
- Supervise timber frame manufacturing and recycling activities involving material handling, crushing processes, and segregation.
- Maintain systematic production areas, optimized workflows, and high operational standards.
- Implement continuous improvement projects aimed at boosting productivity, process flow, and safety.
- Mentor and develop team members to increase their skills and engagement.
- Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to facilitate seamless operational functionality.
- Detect and address operational problems or deviations in processes, promoting ongoing improvements and compliance adherence.
- Ensure accurate tracking of inventory, material identification, and application of FIFO protocols supporting production and recycling goals.
- Facilitate shift changeovers, internal communications, and toolbox discussions to keep all team members aligned.
- Enforce health and safety policies, including hazard awareness, near-miss reporting, and adherence to safe practices.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in roles such as Team Leader, Leading Hand, Supervisor, or similar frontline leadership positions.
- Background in logistics, warehousing, recycling, manufacturing, distribution, or industrial operational environments.
- Willingness to adjust work hours occasionally to support afternoon and night shifts.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities to manage priorities in dynamic settings.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact with employees and stakeholders across levels.
- Commitment to promoting workplace safety and fostering a positive safety culture.
- A collaborative approach to working across teams and departments.
- Adaptability, eagerness to learn, and ability to identify opportunities for operational improvements and efficiencies.
