Role Overview
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will identify, engage, and recruit exceptional candidates across all departments, acting as a strategic partner to hiring managers and company leaders. This role requires gaining deep insights into workforce requirements, understanding role specifics, market conditions, and the skills necessary to fuel Kodiak's expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with hiring managers and leaders to comprehend staffing demands, role profiles, team environments, business goals, and ideal candidate attributes.
- Execute proactive sourcing tactics such as direct candidate outreach, LinkedIn searches, networking, referrals, talent mapping, and targeted market research.
- Engage passive candidates and effectively communicate Kodiak's employee value proposition to foster long-term relationships.
- Build and sustain talent pipelines for recurring, challenging, specialized, and crucial roles throughout the organization.
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment including intake discussions, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, candidate communication, offers, pre-employment processes, and onboarding facilitation.
- Evaluate candidates’ experience, qualification, motivation, compensation expectations, culture fit, and alignment with job requirements.
- Advise hiring managers by sharing market trends, candidate availability, pipeline status, and suggestions to optimize hiring outcomes.
- Represent Kodiak professionally to candidates, industry contacts, educational institutions, and community organizations.
- Maintain accurate recruitment data and candidate tracking in applicant management systems.
- Promote Kodiak’s employer brand and culture during recruitment phases.
- Ensure recruitment practices follow employment laws, internal policies, equal opportunity guidelines, and approval workflows.
- Track and analyze recruiting metrics to assess sourcing success, pipeline health, time-to-fill, and candidate quality.
- Perform additional related duties as needed.
Preferred Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related discipline preferred; relevant recruiting experience may substitute for formal education.
- Certifications like PHR, SHRM-CP, AIRS, or LinkedIn Talent Acquisition Specialist are advantageous but not mandatory.
Experience Requirements
- At least three years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, sourcing, or allied HR roles preferred.
- Proven ability to source passive candidates through LinkedIn, networks, referrals, job boards, social media, and industry connections.
- Experience recruiting across various functions including corporate, operational, technical, field, skilled trades, or leadership positions is a plus.
- History of partnering with hiring managers and executives to create recruitment strategies and provide pipeline advisories preferred.
- Knowledge or recruiting experience within compression, power generation, or energy services sectors is considered beneficial.
- Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (preferably Workday) and keeping meticulous recruitment records is required.
Essential Skills and Abilities
- Expertise in proactive sourcing and identifying talent beyond conventional applicant pools.
- Skill in leveraging LinkedIn, creative search methods, networking, and referral systems to locate qualified candidates.
- Effective relationship-building with hiring managers, candidates, business leaders, and external partners.
- Strong communication, interviewing, influencing, and candidate engagement skills.
- Business-oriented mindset capable of aligning recruiting with operational priorities.
- Ability to juggle multiple requisitions, priorities, and candidate pipelines simultaneously with high organization and attention to detail.
- Sound judgment and professionalism in managing confidential information.
- Knowledge of employment law, equal employment opportunity regulations, and recruiting compliance.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn, and other recruitment technologies.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This position is primarily office-based, requiring regular use of computers, phones, and related technology. The role involves prolonged sitting, frequent verbal and written communication, and multitasking in a dynamic setting.
