Talent Acquisition Lead

Position overview

This role is for an accomplished recruiter who can help a rapidly expanding biotechnology company hire through a critical growth phase. It suits someone who works well in fast-moving settings, has a strong eye for high-caliber talent, and likes partnering with technical and scientific leaders to form effective teams.

The ideal candidate will be very hands-on, with strong sourcing ability, sound recruiting judgment, and a background in supporting large-scale hiring in biotech, life sciences, or similarly technical organizations.

Core responsibilities

• Run end-to-end recruiting support for both technical and non-technical roles.
• Identify, approach, and convert high-quality candidates in highly competitive talent markets.
• Work closely with hiring managers and technical leads to clarify role needs and guide searches from launch to offer.
• Perform recruiter screenings and coordinate interviews throughout the process.
• Create strong candidate pipelines using referrals, networking, and inventive sourcing methods.
• Keep candidates engaged and deliver a smooth, positive hiring experience.
• Act as a dependable recruiting partner across the full hiring cycle.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree is preferred, though an associate’s degree combined with additional relevant experience may also be acceptable.
• At least 5 years of end-to-end recruiting experience, with substantial exposure to biotech, life sciences, or other technical sectors.
• Proven ability to source technical, scientific, or other niche talent.
• Experience attracting and engaging passive candidates.
• Prior recruiting experience in startup or high-growth environments is preferred.
• Strong planning, organization, and communication skills.
• Must be comfortable working onsite full time in San Diego.

The compensation range for this position is $126,000 to $158,000.
