Job Overview
An established retail group based in County Kerry is seeking a full-time Store Manager to lead one of their convenience stores. The position demands a candidate with relevant retail experience who can manage store operations and fresh food sections effectively. This role involves 40 hours per week, working closely with the store owner to cultivate a team dedicated to exceptional customer service and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and develop store employees to maintain efficient store operations.
- Create employee schedules ensuring adequate staffing within budget limits.
- Manage wage payments accurately according to legislation and agreements.
- Set strategic goals for the store to maintain customer satisfaction and competitiveness.
- Lead team performance management in compliance with labor laws.
- Communicate regularly with the General Manager regarding objectives and store metrics.
- Oversee the delicatessen section’s operations, motivating the team and ensuring compliance with hygiene standards.
- Implement and maintain HACCP and other food safety systems, ensuring legal compliance.
- Supervise cleaning, temperature controls, waste management, and food hygiene practices within fresh food areas.
- Develop and manage store budgets, analyze financial reports for discrepancies, and maximize profitability and sales.
- Ensure smooth daily store operations, improve standards in merchandising, housekeeping, and customer service.
- Manage in-store promotions and maintain company branding standards.
- Handle cash management and address any inconsistencies.
- Address and resolve customer complaints promptly, implementing improvements as needed.
- Control stock effectively to reduce losses and maintain food quality, including stock rotation and wastage management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation including health and safety, employment law, and consumer regulations.
- Maintain store security, oversee opening and closing procedures safely.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by the General Manager.
