Job Responsibilities
- Monitor and record vital health parameters of patients regularly.
- Administer prescribed medications, injections, IV fluids, and clinical treatments.
- Support doctors during patient rounds and actively carry out treatment protocols.
- Observe and promptly report any patient condition changes to medical staff.
- Keep comprehensive and precise nursing documentation and patient records.
- Perform clinical procedures such as wound care, catheterization, IV insertion, blood sampling, and other nursing tasks.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, medical interventions, and surgeries while upholding sterile techniques and infection control.
- Promote patient safety by preventing falls and medication errors.
- If assigned to the operation theatre, prepare the environment, assist surgeons and anesthetists, maintain surgical sterility, manage surgical instrument counts, and ensure sterilization of equipment.
- If posted in ICU or emergency settings, monitor critical patients, operate relevant medical devices, aid in emergency resuscitation and trauma care, and prepare necessary emergency supplies.
- Educate patients and their families on medications, recovery processes, discharge instructions, infection prevention, and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate documentation including nursing notes, medication logs, discharge summaries, and incident reports per hospital policies.
- Implement strict infection control measures including hand hygiene, PPE use, biomedical waste segregation, and cleanliness of patient areas.
- Collaborate with various hospital departments ensuring smooth patient transfers and coordinated multidisciplinary care.
- Manage medical equipment functionality and report defects; maintain stock levels of medicines and supplies; ensure emergency equipment is ready at all times.
- Adhere to NABH standards, participate in quality improvement programs, uphold patient confidentiality, and comply with ethical nursing practices.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must hold a GNM or B.Sc. Nursing qualification and possess a valid registration with the Tamil Nadu Nursing Council. Both fresh graduates and experienced individuals are encouraged to apply.
