Specialty Barista

Role Overview

The Specialty Barista position involves crafting and serving premium specialty coffees and related beverages in accordance with Roasters Specialty Coffee House's established standards and recipes. Daily responsibilities include operating espresso machines and other brewing devices, preparing light snacks or accompaniments, and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in both the bar and customer areas.

Core Duties

• Prepare and serve specialty coffee and beverages following strict recipes and quality standards.
• Operate espresso and other coffee brewing equipment proficiently.
• Handle food preparation for light bites or accompaniments.
• Maintain a clean and organized bar as well as customer space.
• Engage with customers by explaining the origins and brewing techniques of coffee.
• Deliver courteous and attentive service to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies.
• Support teammates during busy periods to maintain service efficiency.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Competency in barista skills, including espresso extraction, manual brewing, and basic latte art.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal capabilities to handle guest interactions calmly and professionally.
• Strong communication skills for clearly conveying coffee profiles, menu details, and responding to inquiries politely.
• Detail-oriented approach, reliability, and ability to consistently adhere to recipes and quality standards.
• Knowledge or eagerness to learn about specialty coffee origins, characteristics, and brewing methodologies.
• Physical stamina to stand for prolonged durations and flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Preference for candidates with prior barista or café experience in the UAE; coffee or hospitality certification is a plus.
