Internship Role Overview
This internship offers an opportunity to join Notion's inaugural engineering intern cohort, contributing to the evolution of a fast, dependable, and secure platform. The 12-week program (September 14 - December 4) is based at the San Francisco office, where interns collaborate closely with mentors to create AI-focused projects that generate significant value for both users and engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality, secure, tested, and well-documented code.
- Innovate and improve Notion's product features with an AI-centric perspective.
- Develop, troubleshoot, and refine full-stack software, including web services, databases, applications, and tools, using modern frameworks and technologies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with graduation planned before summer 2027.
- Previous internship experience is expected.
- Familiarity or developing proficiency in one or more languages such as TypeScript, Node.js, or Python.
- Ability to embrace complex challenges, analyze problems deeply, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Available to work on-site in San Francisco for the full program duration (Sept 14 - Dec 4).
Desired Skills & Attributes
- Passion for AI technologies; hands-on experience or prototyping with LLMs, embeddings, or machine learning is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems and find clear solutions independently or collaboratively.

Compensation and Policies
Notion offers competitive hourly pay based on factors such as location and experience; for San Francisco-based interns, typical rates are approximately $57/hour for bachelor's degree candidates and $61/hour for master's degree candidates.
