Senior Technical Architect

About the Role

We are looking for an accomplished Senior Technical Architect based in Riyadh with over a decade of experience to lead technical development, coordination, and execution of architectural projects. This role involves ensuring design quality, technical standards adherence, constructability, and collaboration across project disciplines from conceptualization through construction documentation and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and evaluation of architectural designs at all project phases.
• Ensure alignment with building codes, regulations, authority mandates, and industry benchmarks.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams during design and documentation processes.
• Review and approve design solutions, architectural details, and specifications.
• Coordinate architectural outputs with structural, MEP, landscape, and specialist consultants.
• Facilitate multidisciplinary design coordination sessions and resolve technical clashes.
• Monitor and manage BIM models ensuring integration of design intent and engineering data.
• Supervise creation and quality control of construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and tender documents.
• Maintain architectural standards, templates, and technical guidelines.
• Conduct technical audits and reviews of project documentation, shop drawings, material submissions, RFIs, and mock-ups.
• Ensure projects meet quality, constructability standards, and client requirements.
• Identify technical risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with regulatory bodies and consultants to obtain necessary approvals, ensuring compliance with local laws, accessibility, fire and safety, and sustainability standards.
• Support technical issues resolution during tendering, procurement, and construction phases.
• Engage in value engineering and design optimization.
• Assist project managers in tracking deliverables, schedules, and objectives.
• Mentor junior architects and technical staff, fostering technical excellence and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture.
• Over 10 years of experience in architecture with a minimum of 5 years in senior technical roles.
• Demonstrated expertise in large-scale residential, commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, or infrastructure projects.
• Comprehensive knowledge of international building codes, technical standards, and construction methods.
• Advanced skills in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM platforms, Navisworks, and related design software.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing construction documentation and technical specifications.
• Thorough understanding of authority approval procedures and regulatory compliance.
• Professional accreditation or registration is preferred.
