Senior Mechanical Engineer - Package / Rotating Equipment

Position Overview

Doha Petroleum Construction Co. W.L.L is seeking to fill the role of Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in package and rotating equipment. This permanent position is based in Doha, Qatar, within the company's office premises.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead mechanical engineering efforts relating to package and rotating equipment for oil and gas projects.
• Review, approve, and manage vendor documentation including engineering calculations and technical specifications.
• Develop and evaluate requisitions, datasheets, bids, and address technical queries efficiently.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to meet project goals and timelines.
• Track vendor performance to address and resolve technical challenges in engineering and procurement phases.
• Ensure all work complies with project requirements, international codes, company standards, and health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Provide engineering support during procurement, inspection, testing, installation, commissioning, and project completion stages.
• Engage in design reviews, hazard and operability studies (HAZOP), and client meetings as necessary.

Candidate Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Have over 13 years of professional experience within mechanical engineering focused on the oil & gas or EPC sectors.
• Demonstrate strong expertise with package and rotating machinery, including pumps, compressors, turbines, and fans along with related systems.
• Thorough knowledge of API, ASME, and other international engineering standards.
• Experience in managing vendors, evaluating technical bids, and effective multidisciplinary coordination.
• Advanced skills in preparing engineering documents, specifications, datasheets, and technical reports.
• Strong communication abilities and adept problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to major EPC projects within the Middle East region.
• Familiarity with Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), piping layouts, engineering drawings, and quality management procedures.
