Descripción del trabajo

Job purpose

This role supports expansion-project instrumentation work across pre-commissioning, commissioning, preservation, and start-up activities. It also involves carrying out field instrumentation maintenance in a safe manner, including preventive, predictive, and breakdown tasks, to help keep company assets reliable and available across North, South, RLTO & Refining, Barzan, and NFE facilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Take part in pre-commissioning, commissioning, preservation, and start-up work for new equipment and facilities.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on field instruments in the workshop and in the field, following safe work methods.
  • Check that required materials and spare parts are on hand and in usable condition before maintenance work begins, in line with the work plan.
  • Follow maintenance procedures and ensure the correct controls are in place to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Prepare accurate completion records and close-out reports for finished work, as required and directed by the Foreman/Supervisor.
  • Support troubleshooting of field instrumentation issues and provide timely updates and reports under the guidance of the Foreman/Supervisor.
  • Review P&IDs, loop drawings, hook-up drawings, instrument indexes, datasheets, logic diagrams, and related documents when resolving field instrumentation issues.
  • Use calibrated and certified tools appropriate for the task and comply with intrinsic safety requirements.
  • Join regular toolbox talks with the team and report near misses, incidents, and accidents through B-Safe or observation cards.

Qualifications

Candidates should have completed secondary school and then finished a vocational training program (TAFE).

Experience and skills

Applicants need at least 3 years of experience as a technician in the oil & gas or petrochemical sector. The role also calls for strong computer literacy, including basic MS Office skills, good written and spoken English, and hands-on knowledge of process control systems such as field and panel instruments, DCS, PLCs, vibration measurement, fire and gas systems, and ESD systems. Experience with control, on/off, and emergency-shutdown valve stroking, calibration, and troubleshooting is important, along with the ability to read technical drawings and documents. The job also requires comfort working in a multinational environment and prior exposure to H2S conditions.

Recruitment campaign note

A recruitment campaign will be held in India in the latter part of 2026. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an in-person interview. Walk-in interviews will not be accepted.
