Senior Commissioning Engineer

Job Overview

This role involves leading the Operation Readiness Disciplines Engineers and Technicians, liaising closely with the QatarEnergy Project Team and Contractors. The primary objective is to ensure the consistent and standardized execution of project design, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up tasks for operational area projects governed by the Operations Directorate. This must comply with QatarEnergy's approved procedures, guidelines, engineering designs, and safety and environmental standards to guarantee:

• Operational Area Asset Owners can fully take ownership of their assets upon handover, managing them safely, reliably, and sustainably.
• Projects within the Operational Area (Operations Directorate) are completed substantially faster, cost-effectively, and with superior productivity without compromising quality and HSE standards.

Experience and Skills Required

• A minimum of 15 years’ comprehensive experience in design, construction, commissioning, and start-up of oil & gas processing and production facilities, both onshore and offshore.
• At least 8 years serving as a Commissioning Coordinator or Team Leader within EPIC contracting environments is essential.
• Practical knowledge in operations, maintenance, and all phases of project pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and asset handover activities.

Educational Background

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in engineering disciplines with preference given to Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering. Holding Chartered Engineer status or its equivalent is highly desirable.
