Role Overview
The Senior Accountant is tasked with overseeing daily accounting functions. This includes maintaining the general ledger, posting journal entries, and managing accounting close processes monthly, quarterly, and annually. The role encompasses preparing and reviewing financial reports, reconciling accounts, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring adherence to pertinent accounting standards and Saudi Arabia's local tax regulations such as ZATCA VAT and Zakat requirements.
The position also involves supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, monitoring cash flow, and delivering financial analysis with recommendations for management decisions. Collaboration with various internal stakeholders to resolve financial issues and enhance accounting processes while ensuring prompt and accurate financial reporting is essential.
Qualifications and Skills
- Comprehensive expertise in financial accounting, including managing general ledgers and generating financial statements.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow management.
- Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and advanced MS Excel functions.
- Understanding of Saudi Arabia's accounting standards and tax laws, including ZATCA VAT and Zakat compliance.
- Strong analytical abilities, detail-oriented mindset, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills in both Arabic and English, with teamwork orientation.
- Capability to juggle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain precision in work.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or SOCPA are beneficial.
- Previous senior or lead accounting experience, preferably in the construction sector.
